D.I.Y. Softening Hand Scrub

Hello Blog Family!!

Try this sugar scrub recipe for and easy at home spa treatment.

Just rub it all over your hands and arms. Then rinse.

Exfoliating the skin on the hands promotes nails and cuticle health.

Castor Oil is a thick oil that easily absorbs into skin and protects skin from harsh weather. Also acts as a carrier/host oil.

Bentonite Clay acts as a mask the helps remove impurities from the skin and gently tightens the skin.

Bergamot Oil, which is known to aid in the soothing of dry and cracked skin, was used in this mixture, but any essential oil can be added. Bergamot is often used in aromatherapy for uplifting due to it bright, citrus scent.

If you’re noticing that your hands are a little dry this winter try this recipe out.

Makes a great gift for the Holidays.

NailMUA: Rice Water Hair Treatment

Budget Friendly Hair Growth Treatment

20190204_081440~2.jpg

Lately,  I’ve been hearing about using Rice Water to strengthen hair…Apparently, the cloudy water holds nutrients that repair the hair cuticle….I’m not gonna get all sciencey about it but I will tell you what I did and the results…which I am very happy with.

I’m always looking for budget friendly at home remedies to recommend to my clients. All beauty industry professionals will tell you that at home maintenance extends the life of any salon and spa services, giving you the best bang for your buck.

So firstly, my hair strands are thin & curly, but I have a lot of it! Also, I round brush it aka blow dry with my ion Ionic Conditioning Hair Dryer & finish it off with with my ion Magnesium Flat Iron during the winter and wear it natural during the summer…I wash my hair with castle soap or vinegar one a week and I condition with Aloe Vera + Jojoba a few times a week…just to give you an idea of my “hair history”….

But moving right along….

Earth Essentials: Castle Soap
Earth Essentials: Castle Soap
    • I added 2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice and let it sit over night.
    • I poured the cloudy water my hair, covered it with a plastic cap
    • let it sit for 30 mins.
    • Washed my hair with Earth Essential: Castle Soap (ingredients)

I towel dried my hair afterwards and added aloe together with jojoba, lavender and frankincense…I have a pre-made hot oil mixture that I have on hand.

In conclusion…

My hair feels SO SOFT!!…and the rice water help repair a lot of heat damage. My scalp feels clean and free of build up. I noticed my curl patterned returned and my hair felt fuller and thicker, especially at the ends. Super rejuvenating and refreshing.

Has anyone else ever tried this? Let me know your thoughts and experiences!

NailMUA: Charmeric At Home Facial

People are always complementing my skin and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared this D.Y.I. detox face mask recipe…so here it goes:

Materials

  • Baking soda
  • Bentonite Clay
  • Activated Charcoal
  • Turmeric
  • Manuka Honey
  • Castor oil
  • Frankincense oil
  • Rose Water
  • Water
  • Non-Metallic Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or Facial Spatula
  • Cotton Balls

Step 1:

Cleanse

Wet face with warm water or use facial steamer to open pores. Next, mix paste with 1 tbsp. of water and 1 tbsp of water and add 6 drops of Tea Tree Oil. Apply baking soda paste mixture to face and scrub gently to remove sweat and skin residue. Finish this step by swiping away all left over paste with a Rose Water moistened cotton ball.

Be sure to clean and dry bowl for use in the next step.

Step 2:

Detox Face + Clean pores

Now mix together 1 tbsp. of Bentonite Clay, 1 tsp. of Turmeric along with 1/2 tsp. of Activated Charcoal. Add 1 tbsp or 2 tbsp of water to the dry ingredients and mix with spoon or facial spatula until smooth and apply directly to face and neck.

Here is “how to” vid on making this mask: NailMUA: Charmeric Facemask

Let air dry and rinse off completely.

Pro tip: Re-wet mask with fingertips for easier and faster removal.

This is the point where you want to extract any pimples or remove black heads/white heads now that the mask has pulled them out your face.

Swipe again with Rose Water, this helps the skin calm down after the extraction process.

Step 3:

Hydrate + Moisturize

Apply Manuka Honey all over face and neck. Let stand for 15 mins. Rinse and swipe with Rose Water once more. This is ultra relaxing and replenished elasticity and hydrates your skin.

Mix a dime sized amount of Castro oil together with 5 drops of Frankincense. Emulsify and fuse oils together by rubbing the mixture between your hands for 20 seconds.

Smooth over face and neck in upwards motion to feed that new amazing layer of polish skin you have just revealed! Enjoy the aromatherapy while you admire your glowing skin!
