Let’s talk #skinhealth
To talk about #skincare without mentioning the function of the #spleen is a little unfair. The spleen filters all the blood your heart pumps and it also is the power house the holds T cells to help keep your immune system in tact to prevent and fight all manner of disease.
The skin is the largest organ of the body composed of cells that receive newly filtered blood from the spleen. So needless to say, if your spleen is in need of a detox, chances are a simple facial won’t do the trick.
Our skin cells make up the largest organ of the human body and renew every 30 days according to what you feed or intake into your body systems.
To keep your skin glowing:
In the morning, bring 3 tblsp of #applecidervinegar to a boil and add two pinches of #turmeric and one pinch of #cayennepepper and drink up! This elixir might not taste the best but you will definitely feel a jolt and will give a nice morning boost to your organs, kinda like hot brother on a snowy day. Also, the warmer the better. It is really that simple. Personally, I’m prone to kidney stones and this really helps prevent them from developing in my system.
- applecidervinegar – has great benefits because it PH balances your body.
- turmeric – is a powerful anti-inflammatory and is packed with antioxidants.
- cayennepepper – stuns parasites so that the may be flushed out of your body.
The combination of the ingredients work together to help the spleen filter the blood stream supplying nutrients to the skin. Since the skin cells renew every 30 days, your new cells will be refreshed, supple and full of elasticity which contributes to healthy looking skin.

MMA vs. EMA
So there is this on going issue in the nail industry: MMA(Methyl MethAcrylate) vs. EMA(Ethyl MethAcrylate). A lot of articles and information can be very helpful in theory, but how can you tell if you have come into contact with MMA products.
Look, lets get real:
Not all nail techs and acrylic producing companies are telling the truth about the products they create, sell and use on clients.
How can you protect yourself and your clients from MMA exposure?
First of all, test the products. Mix the monomer with the acrylic powder. Let it harden and then let it soak in acetone to see if the product dissolves. If the product dissolves, then the acrylic product is safe, EMA. If it does not dissolve, its MMA. Do this in front of clients to inform them.
MMA was developed for use in the dental…

So I haven’t been able to post in a while but not to worry the #contentqueen has been working hard and taking insight from nail techs from across the globe.
The foundation of the education is important. I find that a lot of my clients are not educated well enough on the range of services a nail tech can offer them.
Below, I’ve listed a variety of options available:
- Manicure: a basic manicure consist of filing, buffing and shaping nails. Cutting the cuticles is an option that should always be discussed. There are two types: Wet and Dry.
- Pedicure: Same as manicure but performed on feet.
- Polish: there are so many options for natural nails. Regular polish is the traditional polish that removes easily. Gel Polish is cured under a UV lamp.
- Acrylic Overlay: is the liquid and powder combination that turns into a durable layer to protect nails. Regular…
